2016 was a challenging year for Jenahura ambassador – Jamie Elson.  Several setbacks off the course early in the year hit Jamie’s form and confidence hard and at the end of the year he had some serious thinking to do.

Turn the page to 2017 and already Jamie has cemented his place at the top of the MENA Tour Order of Merit with some impressive performances in Morocco, UAE and Thailand.

Starting out with a tie for 9th place at Palmeraie Golf Club, Jamie followed up with a 3-under par total at the extremely challenging Royal Golf D’Anfa and a tie for 11th.  A solid start to his MENA Tour campaign.  Onto the UAE where Jamie hit top form claiming Second place at Ras Al Khalmah, closing with rounds of 66 and 69.  Next stop on the tour was the Thailand swing.  Two first class displays of ball striking had Jamie tie for 3rd place twice at Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin and Mountain Creek before the rain affected finale at Pattana held back Elson from finishing the swing top of the order of merit before the tour heads to South Africa.  Rounds of 70 and 68 (-6) good enough to claim a tie for 9th place.

Aside from focussing on his own game, Jamie has also been mentoring new signing – Ben Amor who has made an impressive start to his professional career making his first six cuts on the MENA Tour.  In fact, at one stage it looked as though Ben may claim a first victory at Banyan Golf Club before a disappointing finish ended his chances. Nonetheless great signs for the future.

It is great to see Jamie playing some first class golf again and equally exciting to see Ben progressing very well.  Well played you two…. Good luck in South Africa!
