Richard McEvoy ended the first part of the European Tour’s desert swing with an impressive week in Saudi Arabia. Without doing a great deal wrong in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic, Rich missed both cuts before demonstrating his legendary resilience by the making the weekend comfortably in the Saudi International. Rounds of 69-68-71-69 were good enough for a tie for 21st place, a decent cheque and 46.47 points towards the 2020 Race to Dubai. Perhaps as important was a much needed boost of confidence having competed admirably against a world class field which included world number one – Brooks Koepka. Rich returns to the Middle East at the end of February for the Oman Open and Qatar Masters and part two of the European Tour’s Desert Swing.
