Perfect weather (if a little breezy on Day One) blessed the championship which was eventually won by Brazilian, Rafael Becker on a score of 104 (-4). Rafael finished just three shots ahead of Jenahura’s Jamie Elson who finished in a tie for 6th position in his debut in the event. The putts just wouldn’t drop on day two when the conditions were perfect. If they had he may well have challenged the young Brazilian for the top spot but in the end had to settle for a cheque for $4,000. A tremendous effort from Jamie playing in only his second competitive event of the year. Next stop for Jamie is Morroco for the opening event on the MENA Tour which tees off on 22nd March at the Royal Golf Mohammedia Golf Club.
Following the main event Team Jenahura finished third in the Pro-Am courtesy of some more excellent play from Elson who looks in good form heading into the season ahead. Good Luck Jamie – the signs are good for a terrific year.
Below are a few images which capture a truly memorable few days in Bermuda which should be added to everyone’s must visit list – it is truly spectacular and the Grey Goose World Par 3 Championship is a truly unique event played on one of the worlds finest Par 3 course – no doubt about that:
