Following up his good early season form in Bermuda, Jamie Elson made an excellent start to his MENA Tour campaign with a second place finish behind good friend and final day playing partner, Zane Scotland at Royal Golf Club Mohammedia near Casablanca.
Both players carded rounds of 68 and 69 to share the lead going into the final round with two other players – Andrew Marshall and South African Tyler Hogarty. Scotland birdied four holes in a row from the 9th to be -5 for the day after 12, a blistering pace that the chasing pack found hard to overturn. Elson did eagle the par-5 12th to get within two but despite his best efforts Scotland was relentless in his pursuit to victory and beat Jamie and Andrew Marshall by two shots on -11. Nonetheless a terrific opening tournament and an excellent start to the year.
