The wild West Coast of Ireland was the second stop on the Road to Costa Navarino earlier this week as our clients “enjoyed” the spectacular links of Trump Ireland (Doonbeg) and one of the world’s finest courses – the Old course at Lahinch.

Unfortunately day one at Doonbeg was all but a wash out with heavy rain and high winds taking there toll on a number of competitors (see video below).  That said, there were some resilient groups who battled their way around in the diabolical conditions.  Top of the tree was Andy Brookes who somehow managed 35 points playing off a handicap of 10 – a truly great performance!

Most guests were still enjoying the wonderful bar in the Lodge at Doonbeg at 2am despite having to be on the tee at Lahinch at 8am!  Thankfully a better day welcomed clients and a great second day was had by all.  Once again, Andy Brookes carded 35 points which was just enough to take the spoils for a second day running and with it maximum points in the Road to Costa Navarino.
