The Team

Martyn Norris – Managing Director

Martyn launched Jenahura in 2004, as a full service sports events and hospitality business focusing on delivering outstanding events and experiences to the corporate sector. Following the global credit crisis, Jenahura decided to concentrate on wholly on its passion – golf.  The success of the exclusive golf events series encouraged Martyn to grow the business with the development of a professional player management division in 2014, with the ambition of developing young talent to become great players and continue to in deliver outstanding and exclusive golf experiences for Jenahura clients and partners.

Having been a professional golfer himself, Martyn is uniquely placed to coach Jenahura’s young talent, and he still has fond memories of his first golf club Effingham in Surrey – although these days you are more likely to find him at Jenahura’s home club Bearwood Lake Golf Club, a course he and many other feel is hugely under rated.

Before launching Jenahura, Martyn swapped his clubs for Sales, Marketing and PR working within for a variety of business including Dell Computers,  PureData Europe and Watson & Sole.

Jenahura currently support The Elizabeth Foundation and Cloe & Sophie’s Special Ear Fund – charities that have provided incredible support to Tour Academy Director – Jamie Elson.

Favourite golf moment:
‘There are so many great moments golf has given to me but probably the funniest was when one of my best friends “fatted” his tee shot on a par three and the ball went straight into a litter bin – the four of us playing had to let the group behind through because we were laughing so much!’

Favourite golf course:
‘I would have to say Loch Lomond, Scotland – it is such a special place – pure heaven on earth!  On a clear day Old Head of Kinsale takes a lot of beating for pure drama.’

Julian is a currently a member at The Wisley in Surrey and a member of Pinehurst, North Carolina USA.

When Julian isn’t perfecting his game he is Managing Partner at Macfarlanes and involved with Prostate Cancer UK.

Favourite golf moment:
‘Watching a dear friend who is a very enthusiastic golfer come as close to a hole in one as you can without getting one at the 17th hole on the Ocean Course at Kiawah.’

Favourite golf course:
‘For playing – got to be Pinehurst No 2 – a truly great golf course and a truly great test of golf but with no gimmicks – Donald Ross was a genius and the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in South Carolina – stunning setting; stunning course and really nice people’

Ross Snape – Non-Executive Director

Having been a passionate Jenahura client for more than 10 years, Ross joined Jenahura as an investor/non-executive director in 2014, at a time with unique growth ambitions for the business; meeting the aspirations of patrons, sponsors and clients and developing the young talented players who are at the core of the Jenahura brand.

Ross has been playing golf for over 40 years, and since he as a ten year old, and as the first one in his family, decided that golf would be the sport of his choice. He is currently a member of Newbury and Crookham Golf Club in Berkshire.

Ross brings a wealth of business experience from a long career in the Construction Industry, currently as Chairman of United Asphalt, that though is when he isn’t working on maintaining his single digit handicap.

Favourite golf moment:
‘Being on the side of the 17th Green at Celtic Manor when Graeme McDowell closed out the 2010 Ryder Cup, amazing atmosphere that only the Ryder Cup can create’

Favourite golf course:
‘It’s not easy to choose one outstanding course, so here are a few of my favourites. Best Inland tracks would include, Sunningdale, Swinley Forest and Woodhall Spa. Best Links courses, include Royal County Down, Royal Portrush, Turnberry and Cruden Bay, but I could name twenty links courses I would happily play every day with a smile on my face’

Jamie Elson – Consultant

Born and raised in Warwickshire, Jamie was taught the game by his father, Pip, former European Tour professional and 1973 ‘Rookie of the Year’.

After a successful amateur career which included a memorable victory at the Walker Cup in 2001, Jamie turned professional in 2003. He recorded a victory in only his third start on the Challenge Tour and went on to secure his European Tour card that same season. By his own admission he struggled to make the step up, and after a long wrist injury, Jamie worked hard to regain his playing rights by qualifying through the 2009 and 2011 European tour schools. With six top 10 finishes, including three 2nd places to his name, Jamie has clearly demonstrated his ability and work ethic.

Now residing in Surrey with a young family, Arthur (4) and Henry (2), he is an integral part of the Jenahura ‘Team’ not only in a playing capacity on the MENA Tour in 2017, but also to help Jenahura clients reach their golfing potential.

Jamie has a passion for many sports including real tennis, and has a keen interest in the work carried out by The Elizabeth Foundation

Favourite golf moment:

‘You can’t beat that winning feeling and when you’re part of a team it’s that much better.  Winning the Walker Cup in 2001 was great and in the last match out I chipped in on the 17th hole to go dormy 1-up and secure a record victory on U.S. soil. The walk down 18 with my teammates was pretty special.’

Favourite golf course:

‘Hmmmm…  Let me think about that… I went to Augusta State University and have played Augusta National a few times… it’s up there!!’
